Informal Meetings Held after Relaxed Stroll

导读:昨晚，国家主席习近平和美国总统奥巴马在中南海举行会晤。两国元首就中美关系及共同关心的重大国际和地区问题坦诚深入交换意见。

It is reported that president Xi Jinping and American president Obama, went on a relaxed stroll last night in Zhongnanhai, after which a brief meeting between two leaders took place in the Hanyuan Temple.

据悉，习近平11日晚同美国总统奥巴马在中南海夜游散步，双方边走边聊，气氛十分轻松。之后双方于涵元殿举行了一次简短会晤。

Xi welcomed Obama in front of Ying Tai, an ancient imperial palace of China. After amicable hands shaking and greetings, Xi extended welcomes to Obama’s attendance to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Informal Meeting and his official visit to China.

习近平在瀛台前迎接奥巴马，两国元首亲切握手，互致问候。习近平欢迎奥巴马来华出席亚太经合组织领导人非正式会议并对中国进行国事访问。

Xi said, “Your agenda would a little tight. We have arranged formal state visit events as well as some relaxed activities. I hope you enjoy a happy and fruitful visit here.”

习近平说，你这次访问日程很紧。我们既安排了国事访问的正式活动，也安排了一些轻松场合。希望你的访问愉快，取得丰硕成果。

Xi then introduced the history of Ying Tai to Obama. Xi said that it is vital to know the modern history of China for understand the current aspirations and the advancing path of China

习近平向奥巴马介绍瀛台历史。习近平表示，了解中国近代以来的历史对理解中国人民今天的理想和前进道路很重要。

Both leaders then held a meeting in the Hanyuan Temple, where Xi and Obama made extensive exchanges as to issues concerning trade, climate change, internet security, issues of east and south sea, etc.

两国元首随后来到涵元殿举行会晤，会上奥巴马与习近平就包括贸易、气候变化、网络安全、东海和南海问题等一系列话题深入交换了意见。

This informal meeting is expected to help the two leaders tackle high stakes issues at a formal meeting on Wednesday.

双方的此次会晤同时为周三将举行的正式会晤的议题绘制好了蓝图。
