After the greeting ceremony, Xi Jin ping, coupled with Matt parry couple had a friendly conversation. In conversation, Matt parry on behalf of the people of New Zealand express warm welcome to Xi Jin ping and his wife. Xi Jin ping said that I am very glad to visit New Zealand the third time. In the current power relations, China and New Zealand are good friends. China and New Zealand`s relation is the model of national relations in different political system, history and culture, development stage. In the trade of economic globalization, we have more opportunities. I hope that through this visit, can promote the relations between the two countries and gain more results.

After a meeting between Xi and New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, the two nations signed 10 agreements in areas including climate change, television co-production, Antarctica, education, financing, tourism and food safety.

“Possibly, New Zealand will have to worry about the fact that there is more Chinese demand than you can possibly supply”, Xi said, drawing laughter at a joint news conference with Key. “China’s progress has been of a huge, huge benefit to New Zealand and other developed economies,” said Key. Former Chinese ambassador to New Zealand, Zhang Yuan yuan，said that although it is small, New Zealand is a global leader in dairy production, as well as in other fields, and has been targeting the Asian market, especially the Chinese one, for years.

习近平与约翰.基共同出现在联合新闻发布会，当习近平说“也许，新西兰担心中国的需求远远大于新西兰能供应的产品”，这句话引来了一阵笑声。而新西兰总理约翰?基说“中国的进步是巨大的，对新西兰和其它发展经济体都有非常巨大的收益。”前中国驻新西兰大使张渊源说虽然新西兰非常小，但是多年来，新西兰在乳制品行业和其它领域中处于全球领导地位，并且它一直针对亚洲市场尤其是中国市场。
