51st Golden Horse Awards held in China’s Taiwan

On November 22, the 51st Golden Horse Awards was held in Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Taipei. Blind Massage directed by Lou Ye became the biggest winner, nabbing six awards, including Best Feature Film. The biggest surprise was Chen Jianbin, who won three awards including Best Leading Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best New Director. He scored a perfect hat-trick at the ceremony. Chen Xiangqi was crowned with Best Leading Actress with EXIT. Director Ann Hui won her third Best Director Award with The Golden Era, drawing level with Johnnie Lee and Johnny To.

Trend: Filmmaker in mainland China dominated the Award

大趋势：大陆电影人收入16项奖占绝对优势

Seen from the list of the Awards winners, films led by the mainland filmmakers dominated this year’s Golden Horse Awards. In addition to two special awards of Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year and the vacant Best Animation Feature, 21 awards was presented at this year’s ceremony, 16 of which were taken by filmmakers in mainland China. Hong Kong filmmakers took home three awards, including Ann Hui’s Best Director (producers of The Golden Era mainly come from mainland China), and two technical awards of Best Action Choreography and Best Visual Effects. As hosts, filmmakers in Taiwan only won the Best Leading Actress and Best Original Screenplay.

从最终的得奖情况上看，由中国大陆主导的影片占据了今年金马奖的绝对主流。除了终身成就奖、年度台湾杰出电影工作者两个特别奖项，以及空缺的最佳动画长片外，第51届金马奖共选出21个奖项，其中中国大陆的电影人共获得其中的16项。香港电影人有许鞍华获得的最佳导演奖（《黄金时代》的主要出品方还是来自中国大陆），以及最佳动作设计与最佳视觉效果两个技术奖，共计3项。而作为东道主的中国台湾地区影人，则只收入了最佳女主角和最佳原著剧本两个奖项。

Big Winner: the film Blind Massage

大赢家一：娄烨新片《推拿》横扫六奖

The most awarded film at the 51st Golden Horse Awards was Blind Massage directed by Lou Ye, which earned seven nominations and won six awards, including the most important Best Feature Film. Adapted from the novel by Bi Feiyu, Blind Massage will be released on November 28.

本届金马奖获奖最多的电影是娄烨导演的新作《推拿》，此片共获7项提名而最终获得6奖，包括了最为重要的“最佳剧情片奖”。改编自毕飞宇同名小说的《推拿》，计划于本月28日上映。

Black Coal, Thin Ice and Blind Massage were both nominated at this year’s Berlin Film Festival. The former, which won the Golden Bear and the Silver Bear for Best Leading Actor, earned leading eight nominations. However, it’s surprising that Black Coal, Thin Ice only got Best Art Direction award.

与《推拿》一起入围今年年初柏林电影节的《白日焰火》，虽然当时获得了金熊奖和银熊影帝的双重认可，并且曾8项提名领跑金马奖入围名单，但最终仅获得最佳美术设计奖，其余7项全部落空，也算叫人意外。

Big Winner: the actor Chen Jianbin

大赢家二：陈建斌艺人独得三奖创纪录

Chen Jianbin, who became hugely popular in Taiwan with Empresses in the Palace, was the biggest winner. He won Best Supporting Actor with Paradise in Service directed by Doze Niu, Best Leading Actor and Best New Director with A Fool, a film he himself directed, wrote and starred in. He created a new record of the Golden Horse Awards, which can hardly be surpassed, or even copied.

凭《甄嬛传》风靡台湾的“皇上”陈建斌则是当晚个人大赢家。他先是凭借钮承泽导演的《军中乐园》获得最佳男配角奖，而后又以自编自导自演的电影处女作《一个勺子》获得了最佳新导演和最佳男主角两个奖项，这一成绩也创造了金马奖的新纪录，今后也很难再被超越甚至复制。

In his acceptance speech, Chen said, “Thanks to my wife and my son. They make me want to be a better person.” And Jiang Qinqin, his wife, was also invited to the stage to share the honor. She kissed her husband and said, “Taiwan is a place I will remember in my whole life. So many good things happened here. He (Chen Jianbin) will be more confident to hold on to his film dream.”

陈建斌发表获奖感言称：“感谢我的妻子、我的儿子，让我愿意做一个更好的人。” 而蒋勤勤也受邀登台共享荣誉，她献上香吻，说：“台湾这个地方我一辈子都会铭记，有那么多好的事情发生，他（陈建斌）会更加有信心坚定完成他的电影梦。”
