1. I’m really nervous 我真的很紧张

Even if you’re more nervous than you’ve ever been, no company wants to hire someone who lacks confidence. “So, in this case, honesty is not the best policy,” says Amy Hoover, president of the job board TalentZoo. “Fake it till you make it!”

即使你从没像现在这么紧张过,但没有哪家公司想雇一名缺乏自信的员工。求职网TalentZoo总裁艾米?胡佛说:“因此,在这种情况下,说实话并非上策。做不到也要装一下!”


2. Let’s talk money 我们谈一下工资吧


Never discuss salary in the early stages of the interview process. Focusing on the salary can raise a red flag with potential employers that you are only there for the money and not for any deeper reasons. More and more, employers are looking for people who align with their mission and values. Negotiations can and should be done after (or at the very end of) the interview phase.

绝不要在面试一开始就开口谈工资。太过于在意薪酬会让你的潜在雇主警觉起来,因为他们会觉得你来他们公司只是为了钱,而没有更深层次的原因。越来越多的雇主寻求的是那些和他们的使命和价值观一致的员工。关于工资的事项可以谈,但是应等到面试结束或接近尾声的时候再提。


3. My weakness is I care too much/work too hard 我的弱点是太在乎(这份工作)/工作起来太拼命
You should never voluntarily talk about your weaknesses unless they ask you with the standard interview question, “What’s your biggest weakness?” And if you are asked this question, stay away from these answers. Everyone knows they are masked strengths, says Hoover. “You should spend time thinking about what your true weaknesses are and admit to them.”

如果面试官没有问起“你最大的弱点是什么”这一常规面试问题,那你千万不要主动谈论此事。如果被问到这个问题,切忌给出“我的弱点是太在乎(这份工作)/工作起来太拼命”这类答案。胡佛说:谁都知道这些所谓的缺点也可以看成是优点。你应该花点儿时间思考你真正的缺点是什么并坦承。


4. I really need this job 我真的很需要这份工作


Don’t give any indication of desperation. “And definitely do not say that you really need this job due to your current circumstances,” says Michael Kerr, an international business speaker and author of “You Can’t Be Serious! Putting Humor to Work.” “Employers may view desperation as a sign of weakness, and, again, they want employees who are seeking a long-term career, not merely a job.”

不要表现出丝毫的绝望。国际商业演讲者、《你不能太认真!让幽默走进职场》的作者迈克尔?科尔说:“当然,不要说在目前情况下,你亟需这份工作。雇主可能会把这种绝望看成是你软弱的表现。再者,他们想要的是那些寻找长期事业,而非仅仅一份工作的员工。”



5. My current boss/employer is horrible 我之前的老板太可怕了
Never, ever criticize a former boss or company. “Even if the interviewer invites you to, don’t,” Hoover says. “It’s not classy, and it’ll make you sound bitter, negative, and petty. It also shows that you could bad-mouth any boss or company in the future — and it could even be a test to see if you will say anything disparaging.”

永远不要批评前任老板或公司,胡佛说:“即便面试官引导你谈这些,也不要那样做。这种做法不光彩,别人会觉得你偏激、刻薄和小气。此事还显示出你以后也会这么诋毁任何雇主或公司——甚至这个问题本身可能就是个测试,试探你是否会说些毁谤的话。”

Don’t make the conversation all about your needs. “This is the time to talk about their needs and what you can do to help fulfill them,” Kerr says. “Talking about your needs will flag you as someone who is potentially going to be high maintenance and challenging to work with.”

面试中不要一直说你的需求。科尔说:“这个时候应该多谈论公司的需求,以及为实现这些要求你能做些什么。一直谈论你的需求,会让人觉得你可能很难伺候,且在工作中也很难相处。”


7. Do you know when we’ll be finished here 请问什么时候结束(面试)


You should never give the impression that you’re in a hurry or have somewhere else to be. “What could be a 30-minute interview might turn into a 90-minute interview if all goes well, and if you seem like you have somewhere more important to be, the interviewer will definitely be turned off,” Hoover explains.

千万不要让面试官觉得你赶时间或还要去其它地方面试。胡佛解释说:“如果一切进展顺利的话,原本30分钟的面试有可能会延长为90分钟。如果你一副还要去更重要地方的模样,面试官当然会对你失去兴趣。”


8. I love the perks you offer 我很喜欢贵公司提供的福利津贴

“Don’t bring up how much you love some of the company’s perks, such as their policy of having every third Friday off or their free snacks,” says Kerr. “Again, this will create the image that you care more about the benefits than you do about contributing to the employer’s success.”

科尔说:“不要谈论你多么喜欢公司的某些福利津贴,如每月第3个周五不上班或提供免费点心等。同样的,这会让人觉得你更在乎福利,而非为公司做贡献。”


9. I’d rather not say 我不太想说

Unless the interviewer asks you an inappropriate or illegal question, or something that makes you feel extremely uncomfortable, you should always answer their queries. “A job interview is never the time to play the ‘no comment’ card,” says Kerr. “It will make you look like you have something to hide or are unprepared.”

除非面试官向你提出了不恰当或非法的、让你极其不舒服的问题,否则你都应当做出回答。科尔说:“面试时,不要说‘无可奉告’这样的话,这会让你看起来有所隐瞒或对面试毫无准备。”



10. How much paid time off do I get in the first year 工作第一年有几天带薪年假

“You don’t want to give the impression that you intend to take all your sick days and miss as much work as possible while still getting paid,” Hoover says. Leave that type of question until follow-up interviews or conversations with HR about benefits, she suggests.

胡佛说,“你不会想给老板留下你想用完所有带薪病假,尽量少干活,薪水却照拿的印象。”她建议,这类福利问题应留到后续面试中再问,或和人力资源部门进行交流。



11. Never swear 绝不要说脏话

“Don’t use curse words or slang terms in an effort to come across as ‘authentic’,” Kerr says. “You’ll only give the impression that you have poor communication skills.” Hoover agrees. “Never swear. Ever. Even if the interview is over drinks after work and everyone around you is swearing.”

科尔说:“不要使用脏话或是俚语来表明你很‘真实’,这只会给人留下你沟通能力不佳的印象。”胡佛同意此观点,她说:“即便面试是在下班喝酒的地方进行,周遭的人都在飙脏话,你也绝对不要说脏话。”


12. I’m getting divorced/pregnant/going through a tough time 我要离婚了/打算生宝宝/现在处境很艰难 Kerr advises against bringing up any personal issues or problems. “This can be viewed as a major red flag for a whole host of reasons, not the least of which being the question as to whether your personal challenges are going to affect your job performance.”

科尔建议,不要提及任何私人事宜或问题。“这会引出不雇佣你的一大堆理由,尤其是,你个人所面临的挑战会不会影响到你的工作表现。”


13. I don’t have any questions for you 我没有问题要问了

When asked if you have any questions for them, don’t say “no.” This makes you look unprepared for the interview, or worse, disinterested in the job or company.

当面试官问你是否有问题要问时,千万别说没有。这会显得你的准备工作做得很不充分,或更糟糕的是,你对这份工作或这个公司不感兴趣。
