Fugitive sends police a SELFIE to replace his unflattering mugshot

An Ohio man with an arrest warrant sent the police a photo of himself after he was dissatisfied with the unflattering mugshots posted on the Lima Police Department’s Facebook page.

美国俄亥俄州一名男子因不满利马警方在脸书上发布的通缉照，自己挑选了一张照片发给警方。

Police posted the unflattering photos (left) of Donald Pugh, who had an arrest warrant for drunk driving and failing to appear in court. Pugh sent in his own selfie (right) with the message: ’Here is a better photo that one is terrible’ showing him in sunglasses and a sports coat.

The 45-year-old has since been arrested in Escambia County in western Florida, where he made sure to flash a friendly smile in his latest mugshot.

Police in Lima, Ohio said Pugh was wanted for drunk driving and failing to appear in court. He is also a person of interest in several other cases, including arson and vandalism.

Lieutenant Andy Green of Lima Police, told Your News Now that the department, located 76 miles southwest of Toledo, frequently uses the social media website to post photos in cases where the suspect is wanted in connection with serious felonies. But Green said: ’We have never had this happen before.’

Following Pugh’s peculiar message, the police thanked him for ’being helpful’ and said they would appreciate it if he spoke to them about his charges.

The Facebook post garnered more than 2,500 likes and almost 3,500 shares in one week.
