Samsung has unveiled a dinky little smartphone-controlled camera that lets you record 360-degree video and then watch it back using a virtual reality headset. The Gear 360 camera was announced ahead of the world’s biggest mobile phone show, Mobile World Congress , which is taking place in Barcelona this week.

The spherical device features two 180-degree lenses - known as fisheye lenses - which produce images that can be stitched together to create a 360-degree image or film. The camera can be controlled via app on your smartphone, which allows you to select how wide you want the frame, and choose whether you want to shoot still imagery or video.

The Gear 360 is designed to be used alongside a Galaxy smartphone and a Gear VR headset, allowing people to create and watch their own 360-degree videos.
