First Harbin–Russia international cargo train starts operation

The first Harbin–Russia international cargo train carrying 47 cargo containers started operation from Harbin, the capital of northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on Feb. 27.

首班哈尔滨-俄罗斯的国际货运列车搭载着47个货运集装箱于2月27日从中国东北黑龙江省省会城市哈尔滨出发。

In the next 10 days, the train will pass through Manzhouli Port, Russian cities such as Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk, and finally reach Yekaterinburg, the final destination.

在接下来的10天里，这趟列车将会通过满洲里口岸，经过俄罗斯城市例如新西伯利亚，车里雅宾斯克，并最后到达终点站叶卡捷琳堡。

The total running time is 10 days, covering a total distance of 5,889 kilometers. With the new train’s operation, cargo transport time from China to Russia will be greatly shortened

列车运行全程总时长10天，总行程为5889公里。随着新列车的运行，从中国到俄罗斯的货物运输时间将大大缩短。

Meng Qingwen, general manager of Hao Logistics, the company that runs the train service, said: "With the shortest operating time and lowest cost, it will become the best China–Russia international cargo line."

运营这趟火车货运服务的公司，哈欧物流公司的总经理孟庆文说：“凭借最短的运行时间和最低的成本，这条物流线会成为最好的中俄国际货运线。”

According to Meng, goods in southern China used to be transported to Dalian by train or trucks, and then shipped eventually to Russia later. It generally took 40 days for the products to arrive at their final destination.

根据孟经理的话，中国南方的货物过去都是通过火车或卡车先运到大连，再装船最终到达俄罗斯。货物到达终点普遍需要花上40天的时间。

The new cargo train, starting from Harbin and entering Russia from Manzhouli Port, is currently the shortest operating rail line to Russia.

而这趟新开的货运列车从哈尔滨出发途径满洲里口岸进入俄罗斯，这是目前到俄罗斯行程最短的铁路。

Foods carried by the train will go through only a one-time customs inspection in Harbin, which will greatly save on time and cost.

通过列车载运的食物只需要在哈尔滨进行一次性报关检验，这将大大节省时间和成本。

Moreover, the rail transport is safe and reliable. The rate of damage for cargo transport is much lower than that of sea transport.

而且，列车运输非常安全可靠。集装箱运输的货物损坏率远远低于海运的货物损害率。
